Clinically recognised LED wavelengths that go beyond skincare

The LED Face Mask emits red (633nm), near-infrared (830nm) & deep near-infrared (1072nm) light, which are the most clinically recognised LED wavelengths for their anti-ageing effects. This system measures the precision of thousands of individual LEDs, and only a small, highly precise selection makes it into our masks. But the testing doesn’t stop there. • How long should I use the LED face mask for? Use for just 10 minutes a day, 3 to 5 times a week as part of your morning or evening skincare routine.

• Does it hurt to use? The device is 100% pain free. It does not generate heat and should not feel uncomfortable.

• How long will it take until I see results? You can expect to see visible results in just 4 weeks when used consistently 10 minutes a day, 3 to 5 times per week.

• Can I use moisturiser before I use the light therapy device? Certain skincare and makeup can block the LED light from entering the skin. We recommend using the LED mask on clean, product free skin.

• How many LEDs does the light therapy device have? The LED Light Therapy Mask Series 2 has 236 bulbs: 110 red (633nm) LED bulbs, 110 near-infrared (830nm) LED bulbs, 16 deep near-infrared (1072nm) LED bulbs.

• What does deep near-infrared LED light do? This wavelength has more recently been shown in scientific evidence to be highly effective for skin renewal and wrinkle reduction, penetrating up to 10mm into the hypodermis to stimulate collagen production deep below the surface of the skin.

• Is the Series 2 Mask more powerful? Power alone doesn’t determine the effectiveness of LED masks. In fact, excessive power could harm the skin, while lower power over a longer period often delivers the best results. To determine the quality and effectiveness of an LED mask, it’s important to also look at the wavelength precision, LED light coverage and treatment time. Despite having the same power density (or irradiance) as the original mask (30 mw/cm²) and a convenient 10-minute treatment time, the Series 2 LED Mask is designed to offer unmatched wavelength precision and coverage for optimal results.

• How long does the LED mask take to charge? 6 to 8 hours for a full charge.

• How should I clean the LED face mask after use? Wipe down the transparent side of the LED face mask with water-based wipes or a damp, lint free cloth. Stubborn stains can be gently removed with 70% rubbing alcohol. We recommend cleaning your mask before every use to keep it fresh.

• Can I use CurrentBody Skin products if I am pregnant, want to get pregnant or breastfeeding? Unfortunately the contraindications state that our products cannot be used if you are pregnant, planning on becoming pregnant or breastfeeding. This device has NOT been tested on pregnant or breast-feeding women and therefore the risk to the foetus, neonate or pregnant women is unknown.

• How do I use the device? Unplug the device from mains power supply. The device will not work if it is connected to the mains power supply. Ensure your skin is clean, dry and free from all traces of skincare or make-up. Fit the mask to your face and switch the controller on. The device will automatically switch off after 10 minutes.

DO NOT use this device to treat any other conditions apart from those listed in the indications for use. This device has not been tested for any other conditions than those listed, and the risk is unknown. DO NOT use this device if you are pregnant, planning on becoming pregnant or breastfeeding. This device has NOT been tested on pregnant or breast-feeding women and therefore the risk to the foetus, neonate or pregnant women is unknown. DO NOT use this device if you suffer from Lupus erythematosus, photosensitive eczema or Albinism. If you use this device system to treat Lupus erythematosus, photosensitive eczema or Albinism you may cause a severe skin reaction. DO NOT use this device if you suffer from any photosensitive disorder (sensitisation to light). If you use this device and you suffer from a photosensitive disorder you may cause a severe skin reaction. DO NOT use the device if you suffer from light-induced headaches. DO NOT use the device if you suffer from any genetic conditions of the eye. DO NOT use this device if you are taking any medication that can cause photosensitivity. If you use this device and you are taking any medication that can cause photosensitivity you may cause a severe skin reaction. Photosensitivity is a common side effect of various medications. These can include certain antibiotics, chemotherapy treatment, and diuretics. If you are unsure about any medication you may be taking consult your healthcare provider. Other substances not listed above can also cause photosensitivity. Common examples of these substances are St John’s Wort, Coal tar, deodorants, antibacterial soaps, artificial sweeteners, naphthalene (moth balls), petroleum products, brightening agents found in laundry detergent, and cadmium sulphide (a chemical injected into the skin during tattooing.

· Incorporating your CurrentBody LED Mask into your skincare routine: We recommend using the CurrentBody LED Mask on clean dry skin. You can use before or with the LED mask products like Green Tea serum as it is an antioxidant and helps boost LED treatment. Hydrogel Mask or Hyaluronic acid serum as this helps to keep the skin well hydrated before and after treatment. If you are experiencing your skin feeling more dry and tight post treatment, we recommend incorporating either our Green Tea Serum, Hydrogel Mask or a Hyaluronic acid serum into your routine before using your mask. The skin may feel warm to the touch and appear slightly flushed due to activation and increased circulation. This is a normal and transient response. We advise using on cleansed dry skin with no other products other than Hyaluronic Serum or the Hydrogel mask to help keep your skin hydrated during treatment. Any other products ingredients can cause the skin to become more sensitive and irritable after LED treatment and we would not advise using such products before or at least a few hours after treatment.

· How to use your LED mask and charge the battery: Firstly, we recommend charging your CurrentBody LED Mask for 6 hours before your first use, even if it looks charged. When charging the battery pack please make sure it is not connected to the mask and is ONLY connected to the mains wall socket with a USB charging wire. Please be careful to ensure the mask is disconnected. Once the battery pack is charged for 6 hours (don’t worry about the LED light on the charger) please detach from the wall socket and connect the battery pack to the LED Mask. After this step the mask should be the only wire connected to the battery. No mains connection required. Hold the power button for 2 seconds and this should turn the LED Mask on. The mask will automatically switch off after 10minutes of treatment time. You can press once to switch the LED Mask off at any time.

· Further information regarding the battery charge: Although the manual will state the battery pack requires charging for 6 hours which we would still recommend you do, they will always have some charge due to the spot and quality checks done at the manufacturing stage. All products are brand new and come sealed from the manufacturer and are then distributed from our warehouse locations. Our returns process and fulfilment warehouse are both in separate locations and the two operations are not linked. Please rest assured we do not resend returned orders, and all products dispatched come direct from the manufacturer. As mentioned, if you do receive a mask that already has some charge on it, this will be remaining from our manufacturing checks.

· Material & Quality of our CurrentBody LED Mask: The CurrentBody LED Mask is developed using NASA grade silicone material which is fully flexible and wearable and unlike other devices the mask’s flexibility ensures that the maximum amount of light hits the lower layers of the skin, delivering both instant and long-term results. The CurrentBody Skin LED Mask uses red, near-infrared & deep near-infrared technology to treat a full face. Each LED socket contains both wavelengths, and as these are delivered at the same time, the quality of the treatment from each of these sockets is crystal clear, therefore penetrates in all areas that the mask covers and not just where the LED lights are positioned. The mask delivers the perfect dose of dual LED light directly to the skin. The red and infrared LED light helps to treat the skin and reduce fine lines and wrinkles, tighten, and tone the skin for a firmer look. It also helps to reduce variations in pigmentation and improve the skin tone for a better looking complexion and glow. We recommend using your mask 3-5 times a week for 10-minute treatment periods, and up to 4-6 weeks for visible results as it can take this long for new collagen to develop. You can if you wish to use the mask up to 7 times a week if you choose to do so.

· Experiencing discomfort when wearing the mask: Although the CurrentBody LED Mask is designed to be fully wearable to allow you to still move around during your 10-minute treatment time, if you do feel some discomfort while wearing the mask our In-House Beauty Tech Experts offer a couple of suggestions: Firstly, try slightly loosening the Velcro straps in case you have tightened the mask a little too much. If this still feels a little uncomfortable, take full advantage of your treatment time and lie down somewhere comfortable, allowing you to loosen the straps a little more. This will alleviate any discomfort you may be feeling from the straps and loosen any pressure from the mask if it was previously feeling too tight against your face. After your 10 minutes of treatment time, you will always experience some redness, however this will disperse shortly after.
