Great foundation with no hives or allergies.
Love this foundation, not itching or breaking out in hives and the color is perfect. Blends really nice with my skin tone (ultra white) goes on soft and smooth, covers what I need it to. It’s like I am not wearing makeup. Almost didn’t get it because some of the reviews stated it was too dark. If it blends in my skin it’s not dark as I am glow in the dark white. Sunburn real easy. I didn’t see if it had any sun protection but I usually put on sun protection anyway, wait 15 minutes, then apply makeup. AZ sun even on cloudy days will burn skin. It’s perfect in price, color, and size, works excellent.

I’m nearly 50 years old and my preferred makeup style is simple; moisturizing primer, a basic foundation, fill the eyebrows a touch, a tinted lip balm, and maybe some blush if I feel pale. I’ve tried most big brands of foundations, from drugstore brands up to the most expensive department store items, but never really found an ideal match in a comfortable foundation until trying this product. I have cool-toned, fair combination skin and most foundations look and feel too thick, settling into pores and creases. My skin is also pretty sensitive, so I avoid anything with scents or heavy consistencies because they can cause rashes and breakouts.This foundation is almost white out of the tube but after application and light blending, it matches my skin perfectly and evens my skin tone very well. It feels light and not at all sticky or heavy. I can’t feel it any more than my moisturizer. While I wouldn’t consider it to be moisturizing on its own, it’s not drying at all. The big test for me today was a visit to the dentist. After X-rays and cleaning, the foundation hadn’t rubbed off or gathered in spots, as I’ve come to expect from almost every brand. My skin still appeared soft and healthy with consistent coloration and texture.This has become my daily foundation and I see no reason to swap to anything else. The price here is far better than any competitors as well.I’ve seen some mention that the color didn’t match their skin well. I would advise that you still need to choose the right tone for your skin. I couldn’t apply a dark or warm tone to my pale cool skin and expect it to match. I do hope they’ll release a broader range of colors for a more diverse group of customers as it’s still pretty limited to light skin tones.

Doesn’t cover brown spots by itself, needed added concealer

Doesn’t cover by itself, need to apply layers and use an additional concealer2. If heavily applied, the color is not a perfect match (mine was too yellow); use it sparingly for better color blending.————————————————————————————-The “After” image includes using additional stick Covergirl concealer for better coverage of brown age spots. Overall, this foundation is ok in a pinch but did not give me the coverage I was looking for by itself. Instead, I bought Fiera concealer and used as a foundation (which costs about $5 more than this one). The Fiera works well for my aging skin (much thicker and provides better coverage). If age spots are not your concern, this foundation might be all you need. But if you are over 40 and need something more, I would suggest you look elsewhere.

Almay Smart Shade Anti-Aging Foundation
I’m always a little hesitant with foundation because I want something lightweight but still smoothing — and this totally surprised me in the best way! It goes on like a tinted moisturizer, but adjusts beautifully to my skin tone and doesn’t cake or settle into fine lines.The hyaluronic acid keeps my skin looking hydrated all day (even when I’m juggling errands, Zoom calls, and laundry!). It’s the perfect “everyday face” product for a natural, glowy look without a heavy feel.Bonus points for being gentle on sensitive skin and not breaking me out. Almay nailed it — highly recommend for anyone 35+ looking for subtle coverage and skincare in one.

This foundation is awesome. I will never use anything but this again. I have sensitive skin and it is wonderful. Last all day and night. Colors exactly to your skin tone. Great coverage but very light, you don’t have to use much. Buy it! 🙂

Me encanta la tecnología de esta base, tipo el protector solar mieneral de Colorescience. Trae ingredientes con beneficios pues trae ácido hialurónico y niacinamida. Deja la piel muy hidratada, efecto mate. Si eres de piel morena clara (como decimos los mexicanos) te va a quedar perfecto el tono light medium. Si eres un poco más clara, como fue mi caso (ojo no soy güera) tono light te va a quedar mejor. “se adapta” es smart shade. Yo tuve que comprar las dos, ambas me quedan, una da al tono y la otra me da un bronceado saludable.
