Just My Thoughts –
I love a bath and have lots of aches and pains m so thought this would be great to try. First impressions were good, it’s a fairly decent size bag, or so I thought – I quickly found out you need two cups of salts per bag so it doesn’t last that long unfortunately!In use I found these salts to be really good, you just pour them into the bath under running water and they fully dissolve and turn the bath slightly cloudy. I didn’t really notice them doing much in the bath, especially for “that time of the month” pain and cramps which were still very much annoying me in the bath. However when I got out I noticed that my foot pain which has really bothering me for ages felt a lot better and continues to feel slightly improved compared to how bad it was before.My only constructive criticism is the salts don’t smell very nice at all so I lit a candle to mask the smell. I assume you could also add some nice smelling bath salts in there too if you wanted to get round it that way.Overall I’m pleased with these as they did help my general aches and pains. They didn’t help with monthly cycle pains though so wouldn’t recommend for that. Considering you need two cups per bath it also works out quite expensive so I’ll be using these every now and then rather than every bath. With that in mind it’s 4 out of 5 stars from me!

I have never tried magnesium bath flakes before, so thought i would give it a go.The bag contains 750g of white flakes, very different to my usual brand of bath salts. The smell is very nice, I could definitely smell the grapefruit, but not the eucalyptus, which is unusual as normally eucalyptus is a very powerful smell. I love eucalyptus in a hot bath as it really does help clear your chest.The flakes claim to help relax your muscles as well as benefiting skin health in general. I pulled my neck last week whilst digging and was hoping a couple of hot baths with these salts in would help. I followed the instructions and measured out 250g and put them into my running bath. When dissolved i found that the smell disappeared which was a shame. I have used these flakes twice now, my neck muscle still hurts. However i wasn’t expecting miracles, so i am not too surprised.If you follow the instructions then you would get 3 baths out of this bag. I feel for the price this is too expensive for regular use, and as a result I will stick with my regular bath salts. If you were using these for footbaths then it would be much more economical at 5 footbaths.

Lacking the right levels of magnesium is sometimes associated with ‘restless legs’. This can be a particular problem at night time and affect sleep. We have found using some of this is in a bath at night time helps to relax and quite often sleep better in general and specifically with less leg aches.This is a good brand and whilst there is a lovely smell when the water is running it is not overwelming. Worth a try.

As a user of Epsom Salts I was keen to try this alternative.You get a resealable pouch containing large flakes of magnesium chloride. With the recommended dose of 2 cups per bath, each pouch yields just 3 or 4 portions.The flakes dissolve well in hot bath water but, while the flakes in the pouch had a sharp (grapefruit / disinfectant) smell, when dissolved in the bath there is no discernible smell of eucalyptus or citrus at all.Relaxing soak, definitely comparable with my usual Epsom salts. Muscles felt soothed and I had a good night’s sleep.So what’s the difference? Apparently Epsom salts contain magnesium sulphate. Magnesium chloride is more easily absorbed through the skin, making for a more effective treatment.So will I stick with Epsom Salts? Probably. But would I use this again? Yes.

I enjoy using bath salts to help after a long run (I run 10+ miles each weekend) to help ease the muscles (although I think it is often the placebo effect). These BetterYou branded salt flakes are not much different from other brands, other than being a little bit cheaper than leading brands. However, I was disappointed in the fragrance; I love grapefruit, and I love eucalyptus, but unfortunately, it appears, not together. You can smell both scents when you open the packet, but when mixed with the hot water in the bath, I struggled to get any of the aromas. So whilst they aren’t the worst bath salts, they are not the best, and it may be worth looking at other brands on Amazon.
